Michael Barkin, Vice President. Mr. Barkin joined the Firm in 2006 as an Associate and was promoted to Vice President in 2007. Mr. Barkin has focused primarily on the healthcare, distribution and business services sectors and has worked extensively with KRG portfolio companies including Fort Dearborn Company, The MedTech Group, PetroChoice and Cetero Research. Mr. Barkin currently serves on the board of directors of Fort Dearborn Company. Prior to joining the firm in 2006, Mr. Barkin was an Associate at Bain Capital, a Boston-based private equity firm. At Bain Capital, Mr. Barkin worked on new investment opportunities in the consumer products and industrial products sectors. He was also active with portfolio companies in assessing follow-on acquisitions and implementing strategic initiatives. Mr. Barkin previously worked in the Private Equity Group of Bain & Company, a strategy consulting firm in Boston where he advised middle-market and large-cap private equity clients on strategic diligence issues. Mr. Barkin received his MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and graduated from Williams College with a BA in economics. He currently serves as a Trustee and Treasurer for West Denver Preparatory Charter School.
