Mr. Lipshutz joined KRG as a Principal in 1999 and was promoted to Director in 2007. Mr. Lipshutz has over 28 years of experience in middle market buyouts, corporate finance, leveraged lending and banking. Mr. Lipshutz leads the Firm's deal origination efforts focusing on sourcing, analyzing and negotiating transaction opportunities to secure new platform investments as well as to assist portfolio companies develop strategic add-ons. Mr. Lipshutz is responsible for cultivating close relationships with entrepreneurs, investment bankers, business brokers, lenders and other third party service providers to KRG. In addition to his deal origination efforts, Mr. Lipshutz is a key member of KRG deal teams involved in marketing services, aerospace/defense & government services, business services and industrials. Mr. Lipshutz has served as a director of KRG portfolio companies Aspen Marketing, Corporate Training, Olson, Sun Valley, The Tensar Corporation and Universal Pegasus.
Prior to joining KRG, Mr. Lipshutz was active in the leveraged lending markets for over 16 years. Mr. Lipshutz worked for NationsBank/Bank of America in Los Angeles from 1993 to 1999, where he co-headed the Western Region private equity-based one stop cash flow lending group. From 1988 to 1992, Mr. Lipshutz was involved in the project financing area and from 1983 to 1988, Mr. Lipshutz was involved in corporate lending across various industry sectors including aerospace & defense, energy, entertainment and California-based middle market businesses.. Mr. Lipshutz graduated with honors from the University of Texas at Austin and received his MBA from Cornell University's Johnson Graduate School of Management.
